The Montreal Heart Institute is grappling with an outbreak of COVID-19, as three patients have been transferred to another center and nine employees are in isolation.

“We are in the process of cooling the units before being able to welcome patients again in the two affected units”, explained Marie-Claude Pageau, public relations officer for the Institute, on Saturday.
No other information was released to the media in connection with the outbreak.
Cardiologists from the Montreal Heart Institute are currently researching COVID-19 and certain treatments. They looked in particular at the use of colchicine, a promising drug to treat patients.
