In a press conference given in Longueuil on Friday, the Dr Horacio Arruda urged Quebecers to be “overly vigilant”, while the first wave of COVID-19 fades to Quebec.
He again lamented a decline in the hygiene measures recommended by the government. He was therefore recalled to Quebec to wear a mask in public places, keeping two meters distance between them, and wash hands frequently to prevent a second wave.

He also indicated that all workers in NURSING homes would be offered a screening test per week. Testing with the saliva are not reliable enough to be used, he specified, however.
The national director of public health has visited on Friday the teams of the Montérégie region in the company of the regional director of public health, Dr. Julie Loslier, in the framework of a visit of the regions of the province.
The Montérégie is the second most affected region after Montreal with 7873 cases of coronavirus confirmed since the beginning of the pandemic. It is, however, behind Montreal and Laval for the number of deaths, or 579 up to now.
More than half of the cases have been listed in the urban agglomeration of Longueuil, says Dr. Arruda. A doctor of public health is also died in the Montérégie area.
