OTTAWA – Health canada has announced the withdrawal of some disinfectants for the hands, which could present risks for the health.

The products that are the subject of a recall “contain ethanol, industrial-quality non-approved for use in the manufacture of hand sanitizers,” said Friday, Health Canada.

It comes to the products Biogel, eSafe, Hand Sanitizer Alco-San, Healthecare More Sanitizing Hand Gel, Manogel and Sanitagel.

The product Biogel manufacturer’s Group Soap Olynpics expires in April 2022 for the numbers of the lots 0D991, 0D992, 0D963, 0D964, 0E998, 0E997 and 0E994.

The disinfectants eSafe and Hand Sanitizer Alco-San is not patented, and the second does even not have an expiry date, according to Health Canada.

The disinfectant Manogel door the NPN 80098846 and expires in march 2022, while Sanitagel includes batches that expire in march and April 2021.

“Health Canada maintains a list of disinfectants for the hands, which could present risks for the health”, a-t-is added.
