COVID-19: seven deaths and increase in hospitalizations in Quebec

UPDATE DAY

Quebec has reported seven additional deaths related to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, as well as an increase in hospitalizations.

A total of 1,041 Quebecers are hospitalized due to the virus, 12 more than the day before. The number of people in intensive care also increased (+9) to 35.

The province has also registered 844 new cases of COVID-19 among people with access to testing centers, while 347 positive tests were self-reported during the day on Monday.

In addition, according to Public Health data, 4686 health network workers are absent due to the virus.

Here are today's data

  • 844 new cases, for a total of 1,080,028 people infected*;  
  • 7 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, for a total of 15,545 deaths;  
  • 4,686 healthcare workers absent for COVID-related reasons (withdrawal preventive, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);  
  • 1,041 hospitalizations, an increase of 12 compared to the previous day;     
    • 174 new entries,  
    • 162 new releases ;    < /li>
  • 35 people in intensive care, an increase of 9 from the previous day;    
    • 18 new entries,  
    • 9 new releases;    
  • 8,500 samples taken on June 19;  
  • 224,158 self-reported rapid tests so far, including 184,483 positive: 399 reported for yesterday, including 347 positive.    

*Remember that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

Vaccination

3,658 doses administered are added, i.e. 3,480 in the last 24 hours and 178 before June 20, for a total of 20,012,472 doses administered in Quebec. Outside Quebec, a total of 340,367 doses were administered, for a cumulative total of 20,352,839 doses received by Quebecers.
