The municipal swimming pools and beaches Sherbrooke were closed Monday due to the discovery of a positive case to the COVID-19 in a team of rescuers.
This municipality of the Estrie region has specified that it is a preventive measure.
“Given that this infected person has been in contact with other lifeguards or sauveteuses in the last few days, the City of Sherbrooke has taken the decision to close its facilities temporarily, the time that the public health Branch of the CIUSS of the eastern Townships, to furnish his instructions, and conducts its inquiry on a new case,” said the City press release.
It plans to take “all necessary measures” to ensure the safety of the people who frequent swimming pools and beaches of Sherbrooke. No details have been provided about the duration of the closures.
