The Société des traversiers du Québec (STQ) has recalled Friday that the port of the cover face will be mandatory on its vessels as of Monday, to counter the spread of the COVID-19, as the government had announced at the end of last month.
“The obligation applies to all customers aged 12 years and older, who will have to carry the cover face at all times aboard the vessels of the STQ, both in areas outdoor and indoor, has stressed the STQ. It will also be highly recommended for children from 2 to 12 years.”
The spacing physics of two meters, remains binding at all times on the ferries, also said the STQ, adding that “security personnel will enforce these safety instructions”.
Motorists, on the ferry, will remain in their car, windows closed, will be exempt from wearing the mask. In this regard, the STQ has pointed out that,”it is recommended, but not obligatory, for the clients to remain in their vehicles in all the ties of the STQ, with the exception of the Matane–Baie-Comeau–Godbout”.
Also, “on the NM F.-A.-Gauthier, the food service clients will be able to remove their mask to eat in the cafeteria only.” “The regulations applicable to restaurants will be in force in this area.”
For the other installations of the Company’s ferries, for example stations by the river, “the port of the cover face will be strongly recommended, more so when the distance of two meters can hardly be respected.”
