COVID-19 continues to circulate in Quebec, but the situation has been improving in recent weeks, according to Dr Luc Boileau.
Three weeks after his last assessment, the National Director of Public Health gave an update Thursday afternoon on the evolution of the virus in the province.
Dr. Boileau was accompanied by the microbiologist and clinical expert in support of the scientific management of the pandemic of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Jean Longtin.
“The situation has evolved in a fairly positive way, but there are other viruses, other circulating respiratory diseases”, explained in particular Dr. Boileau.
Health authorities are again encouraging people to go to vaccination sites if their last dose dates back more than five or six months.
In a new approach, Dr. Boileau also asks anyone with symptoms related to a disease to stay at home.
When the person is able to resume their activities, Public Health insists on wearing a mask for several days in order to protect others.
< p>Public Health believes that these recommendations are not very binding.
