After signing a promise of sale last June with Altemed and the Métropole de Montpellier, Crédit Agricole has just appointed the architect who will build its future headquarters in Cambacérès . It was the Dream firm, founded in 2018 by Dimitri Roussel, which won the international competition.
25,000 m² of built surface
Located on Place Françoise Héritier, near the Innovation Hall, this "madness" architectural will extend over 25,000 m² of building. More than just a headquarters with offices, it is a campus open to the neighborhood that the Regional Bank intends to develop. "This real estate project doubles as a societal project, meeting new expectations of well-being and performance at work." In addition to the bank's 650 employees, twice as many can be accommodated there to work. These will be companies, at different stages of their development, which will be able to occupy shared spaces.
Regulated rents for businesses
The metropolis is committed to upholding the principle of rent control in order to facilitate the installation of young start-ups across a campus innovation hub. In addition to social innovation, this new Montpellier madness will be characterized by its architectural and environmental characteristics. "This project takes its roots in the history and life of our territory: by its architectural inspiration which recalls the organic landscapes of the hinterland, by its furrows and curves which we imagine carried by the sea winds and the tramontane, by the choice of materials: natural stone from Gard and Mediterranean wood…", indicates the press release.
Crédit Agricole should leave its Maurin headquarters in 2028 to settle in Cambacérès.
