“Crush him”: wedding procession degenerates and attacks a police officer, ceremony cancelled by the town hall

A day that did not go as planned for this couple who were supposed to say “I do”. On Saturday, September 28, early in the afternoon, a wedding was canceled in Cannes due to the procession of guests causing trouble, reports Nice-matin. Speeding, honking horns and passengers sitting on the doors of cars, the relatives of the future bride and groom knew how to get noticed. So much so that the municipal police motorcyclists ended up intervening.

A police officer was reportedly targeted

After managing to control the procession, one of the guests suddenly shouted at a driver “Run him! Run him!” referring to a police officer, who should have avoided the car that was coming towards him. However, no one was injured. The latter decided to file a complaint and an investigation for flagrante delicto is under way.

The wedding canceled

In this context, the mayor and Jérôme Combat, municipal councilor delegated to the fight against incivility, decided to cancel the wedding. “I received the bride and groom who were adorable. But they understood the situation very well, in view of what happened with the procession. We cannot accept this type of behavior" explained the elected official to the regional daily.

Saccording to the town hall, several rules set out in the marriage charter were broken, which is why the marriage was annulled.
