Ukraine and Serbia signed a document that concerns data interchange between the customs authorities of the two countries and should increase the efficiency of the fight against corruption. The President Petro Poroshenko said during a joint press conference with President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar vučić in Belgrade.
“Very important… a document that was signed. Its purpose – efficient fight against corruption, not to allow those who are dishonest to evade taxes – and in Ukraine and in Serbia. It is also the document that I want that Ukraine signed with all major trading partners. And I think this process will definitely continue,” – said Poroshenko.
As explained in the press service of the President of Ukraine, signed the document provides for exchange of customs statistics of foreign trade, the comparison of these data and to identify existing differences.
It is assumed that the exchange of such data will improve the reliability of the statistical data of the countries, as well as prevention, detection and suppression of violations of legislation of States parties. The signed Protocol stipulates the introduction of direct cooperation between the competent authorities of the parties in the sphere of customs statistics.
