200 days before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in France (July 26-August 11), here are the predictions from the Midi Libre sports department. A non-exhaustive list of regional athletes which takes into account past and current results but also our favorites. Montpellier sports shooter Clément Bessaguet is one of them, and hopes to make up for it after Tokyo.

Vice-world champion, reigning European champion, n° 1 in the world for a good part of the season and the Olympic quota in his pocket, Clément Bessaguet is living the best period of his career.

At 32 years old, and after missing out on his first Olympic Games in 2021 in Tokyo (7th), the Montpellier native no longer comes off the podiums in pistol shooting events (speed, 25 m).

"I only have one goal, the title"

In Châteauroux, where the Paris 2024 competition will exceptionally take up residence, he intends to lead the way and succeed his training companion, gold medalist in Tokyo, Jean Quiquampoix.

On August 3 (qualifying) and 4 (final), he will have to sweep away the competition, particularly from China.
