According to the Gard senator, the Minister of the Interior is seeking to better organize requests from law enforcement throughout the Olympic year.

Change the dates of the Pentecost and Harvest fairs ? Sacrilege in Nîmes! However, this is what Gérald Darmanin would have asked of Gard senator Laurent Burgoa, according to what the latter reported on Thursday during his greetings to the press.

The Minister of the Interior, concerned by the numerous requests from mobile forces in view of the Olympic Games, would seek to alleviate certain requests upstream and would have thus challenged the senator from Gard: «Darmanin said “Say, your ferias we couldn't find new dates ?” » I told him “We can't change!” He understood. He just gave it a try… He’s someone who does the job quite well,” said Senator LR.

The Nîmes ferias will therefore take place on the scheduled dates: from May 16 to 20 (Pentecost) and from September 13 to 15, 2024 (Harvest).
