Deadly bad weather: the victim of the flood in Pézenas has been identified, his “accompanist” is safe and sound

This Monday, March 11 in the morning, the lifeless body of an octogenarian was discovered on the flooded side of the Hérault river, in Pézenas. The search continued during the day in the hope of finding his "accompanist". This woman is safe and sound, revealed the public prosecutor of Béziers.  

We know more about the victim of the flooding of the Hérault river, found this Monday, March 11 in the morning, on the RD32E5 which connects Pézenas to Castelnau-de-Guers. "The lifeless body of the 87-year-old man living in Prade-Le-Lez was transported to the ;#39;Montpellier medico-legal institute with a view to carrying out an autopsy", indicated the public prosecutor Raphaël Balland, in a press release.

The Pézenas gendarmerie company, under the authority of the Béziers public prosecutor's office, opened an investigation to determine the causes of the death. The investigations also made it possible to "noting that the victim was driving the same vehicle on Sunday March 10 in the early evening, while traveling between Pézenas and Agde, accompanied by a young woman who was not immediately identified. An investigation into a worrying disappearance was therefore also opened concerning her to ensure that she was safe and sound. The distribution of her photograph by the gendarmerie services made it possible to locate her in good health this Monday at the end of the afternoon. She explained that she had actually been transported by the victim who was then dispatched alone at the wheel of her vehicle", added the prosecutor. This Monday afternoon, the Searches continued to try to find this woman on the outskirts and in the river, mobilizing firefighters and emergency services. 

"Investigations continue to understand the circumstances of the death" of the octogenarian whose car was found slammed against a plane tree.
