Death of a farmer on a dam in Ariège: her 14-year-old daughter also died, the father in absolute emergency

Un accident mortel s'est produit sur un point de blocage des agriculteurs à Pamiers, dans l'Ariège, ce mardi 23 janvier 2024. Une agricultrice est morte sur le coup. Sa fille de 14 ans est décédée des suites de ses blessures. 

She did not survive the accident. The 14-year-old girl, seriously injured by the car which forced the roadblock in Pamiers, has died, indicates BFMTV. < /p>

The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. A car drove into the demonstrators according to our colleagues from  France 3 Occitanie. "They passed at breakneck speed, on the shoulders, avoiding the concrete blocks", said Sébastien Durand, vice-president of the FDSEA d& ;#39;Ariège. 

Two dead, one man in intensive care

The vehicle "hit the straw wall erected by the farmers at high speed. The farmer was with her husband, her 14-year-old child, behind a stack of straw. The mother died instantly . 

Seriously injured, the 14-year-old girl and her father were hospitalized. The latter is still in intensive care, but the young girl succumbed to her injuries. 

According to our colleagues, the accident track is favored. The three occupants of the vehicle which forced the blockade were taken into custody. An investigation into  "aggravated manslaughter and aggravated bodily injury" has been opened.
