Mayor of Marseille for a quarter of a century, ex-minister under the Juppé government, president of the metropolis and of the regional council of PACA, vice-president of the senate, Jean-Claude Gaudin passed away on Monday May 20 in the Var.

The former mayor of Marseille Jean-Claude Gaudin died on Monday May 20 at the age of 84, report our colleagues from France Bleu Provence, quoting the secretary of the politician.

"Jean-Claude Gaudin is no more. He was Marseille made man. From his city, his passion, he had the accent, the fever, the fraternity. For her, this child from Mazargues had risen to the highest positions in the Republic which he served. I am thinking of his loved ones and the people of Marseillais", wrote the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron on his account X.
