Death of Pilar Victoria at 28: Former Béziers volleyball player found dead in her apartment

International volleyball player, formerly of the Béziers Angels, Pilar Victoria, died at the age of 28,

Pilar Victoria, a 28-year-old Puerto Rican volleyball player who played for the Béziers and Chamalières clubs in France, was found dead in her apartment, report La Montagne and the Béziers volleyball club.

The cause of her death is not yet known. Pilar Victoria was discovered at her home in Bursa, Turkey, where she had joined the local club. The Béziers club paid tribute to her on its Instagram page.

“An extraordinary girl”

“It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of an extraordinary girl. Pilou spent 2 seasons under the Angels jersey […] We will remember much more than volleyball, his grinta, his smile, his kindness, his generosity, Pilou was everyone's friend..", writes the club which sends its condolences to the family of Pilar Victoria.

"It's a a very complete player that we really wanted to recruit. Pilar scores a lot of points and also has a good block", Didier Huc, the sports director of Béziers Volley, told Midi Libre in 2018, when the athlete was recruited.

La Montagne indicates that an investigation has been opened and that an autopsy must be performed to shed more light on the circumstances of her death.
