Declaration of public utility for the western bypass of Nîmes: “We have never given up”, welcomes Franck Proust

Un arrêté du 4 mars publié au journal officiel du 8 mars fait de ce projet une priorité pour l'Etat.

The State has just announced the signing of the Declaration of Public Utility (DUP) of the Western Bypass of Nîmes, announced the presidents of the Agglomerations of ;#39;Alès and Nîmes. Nîmes Métropole communicates its satisfaction through President Franck Proust: "A l’Agglo we never gave up, and this perseverance carries today ;rsquo;now its fruits. This decision is an important step in this major issue for the quality of mobility in the territory of Nîmes Métropole< /em>."  

Community elected officials, first and foremost the president, the vice-president for mobility and transport infrastructure as well as the vice-president for economic development, appreciate this strong commitment from the State.< /p>

"We have always been lucid about the challenges of this issue and the risks of pitfalls, as I have always argued that it was necessary to play with the crossed calendars of the State-Region Plan Contracts (CPER) and the Motorway Plan" recalls Franck Proust. From there, we must move towards phasing the operation while relying on a DUP dealing with the entire route. "It’is the condition of the efficiency of the gain of a time that is already too long", specifies the president of Nîmes Métropole. 

For Nîmes Métropole, the operational and financial commitment of VINCI Autoroute to prioritize and quickly treat the section linking the A9/RN113 to the RD40 (Route de Sommières)"is a real opportunity both to realize as soon as possible the opening up of the Nîmes University Hospital (the largest employer in Gard with more than 6,000 agents), the SDIS barracks but also the ;rsquo;all companies in the Saint-Césaire industrial zone.
