Deep unease regarding the possible returns of Bowman and Quenneville

Several rumors point to the return of former Chicago Blackhawks Stan Bowman and Joel Quenneville, and the National Hockey League (NHL) will no doubt have to decide on this thorny issue.  

There is deep unease in the community over the reinstatement of the former general manager and ex-head coach, who allegedly played a role in the infamous Kyle Beach case at the “Hawks”.

TSN network reporter Darren Dreger reported Tuesday that Quenneville, the second-winningest coach in Bettman Tour history, is close to a comeback. If an organization wanted to negotiate with Quenneville, they would first have to come to an agreement with the Panthers, since the 60-year-old signed a five-year contract with them in 2019. Last November, he told the TSN network that he would like to resume service.

For Bowman, the most insistent rumors send him to Pittsburgh, where the Penguins have cut ties with Brian Burke and his assistants. This organization and the Bowman family, especially due to Scotty, Stan's father, are said to have close ties. The 49-year-old has only known the Blackhawks during his career, being named GM in 2010.

On social networks, several Internet users reacted to these rumors in a negative way. Some have indicated that Quenneville and Bowman should never have NHL jobs again. Together the two men participated in Chicago's three Stanley Cup conquests in the 2010s.

It remains to be seen whether the NHL will want to send a strong message by refusing to allow the two leaders to return or whether it will give the runner a chance.
