Rick Allen, the famous drummer of Def Leppard was savagely attacked by a young man outside his hotel in Florida.

The 59-year-old British rocker was smoking quietly on valet service at the Four Seasons in Fort Lauderdale when his attacker allegedly ran “full speed” towards him and punched him.

Rick Allen then lost his footing and hit his head on the ground, according to the police report obtained by People

The suspect, Max Hartley , 19, also allegedly attacked a woman who came to the aid of the musician. Hartley allegedly grabbed the Good Samaritan by the hair and dragged her out of the hotel lobby after she attempted to seek refuge there.

Max Hartley, who is from Ohio, fled the scene of the assault. He was intercepted breaking the windows of a car in the parking lot of a nearby hotel. 

The young suspect was charged with abusing a disabled or an elder, assault and battery and four counts of criminal mischief.

Rick Allen had his left arm amputated in a car accident in the early 1980s.

The rocker plans to prosecute his assailant according to a statement provided to the police.

The suspect has been released on bail.
