“Canada stands in solidarity with Ukraine, and we will continue to provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the equipment they need to win,” added the Minister.
“The battle tanks are on their way to help Ukraine. The first Canadian Leopard 2 is gone. Canada's support for Ukraine is unwavering,” the minister proclaimed in another tweet, accompanied by a video showing the loading of the tank and the departure of the plane carrying it.
Canada had announced at the end of January its decision to deliver four German-made Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, the day after a similar announcement by several Western countries.
