OSAGE BEACH, Missouri | full pandemic, a few hundred people participated in a “party pool” at the edge of the lake of the Ozarks, Missouri.
Images of the festival, held on the occasion of the weekend of Memorial Day, was shared on Twitter by a reporter for KTVK, a string associated with CNN. The video was shot from a restaurant that is adjacent to the swimming pool, Osage Beach.
It clearly shows that the party-goers are piled on each other, not respecting the social distancing.
This gathering is at variance with sanitary rules in force in Missouri. In the context of the reopening plan presented at the beginning of the month of may by the State, the authorities said they now allow the service to tables, provided they adhere to the social distancing and other measures to preserve the public health.
Jodi Akins, a woman of Blue Springs, a town situated at 2h30 drive from Osage Beach, was said to have visited the bar with four friends on the occasion of this feast.
“When we entered, my first words were : “Oh! My god!” she said to CNN. It was definitely intense! Social distancing was non-existent. Everyone had fun. The atmosphere was carefree, but the security was present!”
“They checked our temperature at all and had thousands of small bottles of hand sanitizer. They have done a good job with what they had in hand”, she added.
The bar where was the “party pool” has written in a publication on Facebook that it was a party for the launch of the summer season called the Zero Ducks Given Pool Party, a game of words with the singular name plural “carnards” and the expletive “f**ks” in English.
The event featured a few disc jockeys and music groups for the event.
Earlier this week, the organizers expected a record crowd compared to weekends from Memorial Day in previous years.
