Frédéric Escojido 22nd deputy
Frédéric Escojido was elected to the municipal council this Saturday morning with 41 votes the 22nd deputy mayor responsible for higher education, the university, the city connected to the rsquo;public lighting and the Lighting Plan.
He had recovered several delegations after their withdrawal from the elected Richard Flandin almost a year ago. Frédéric Escojido also chairs the local Youth Mission.
Donation of a palm tree for the Market Square
The Palmiers Prestige company in Livron-sur-Drôme is donating a palm tree, worth €7,797, to replace the one that had to be shot dead last year at Market Square. Thus, a Washingtonia filifera, eight meters high, 55 years old, weighing three tons, will be planted with the help of the donating company.
The greening permit extends
The greening permit, launched at the end of September 2019, will expand to meet the growing demands of the Nîmes population, which makes it possible to create islands of freshness in the city. The City voted to add vegetation possibilities and create planting pits along the facades.
Disposal of Portal garages
As part of urban renovation, the municipal council authorized the transfer of 40 garages from the Le Portal co-ownership, in Chemin-Bas d’Avignon, to the Public Land Establishment of’ ;rsquo;Occitanie for 90,000 €. The opportunity for the left-wing opposition municipal councilor Christian Bastid to recall the excessively long deadlines for this demolition of the Portal garages: "We started talking about it in 2012. There should be a simplification of the Anru device."
Single pass for 10 euros for the Contemporaine
The City has decided to offer a single pass at 10 € to enjoy the first edition of La Contemporaine from April 5 to June 23. The public will thus be able to see the exhibitions in the museums of Fine Arts, Old Nîmes, Bullfighting Cultures, the Quadrilatère des Jésuites, at Carré d’Art museum of contemporary art Jean Bousquet, but also attend a screening at the Semaphore. Passes are available for sale at the Tourist Office.
