Doping: Adidas drops Fernando Tatis son

Fallen San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. has lost a top sponsor as Adidas decided to cut the shortstop after he was was suspended for violating Major League Baseball's doping policy. 

The clothing company confirmed this in a statement Thursday. 

“We believe sport should be fair. We have a clear policy on doping and can confirm that our partnership with Fernando Tatis Jr. has come to an end,” reads a statement from an Adidas spokesperson.

< p>The Dominican has also collaborated in the past with the major companies Gatorade, BMW, PlayStation and Dairy Queen, to name a few. It is not yet known whether they intend to turn their backs on the 23-year-old player.

Recall that a screening test revealed the presence of Clostebol in the blood of Tatis, who was suspended 80 games by Major League Baseball last week.
