The president of the Hérault department met with Mayor Sébastien Frey in the middle of the morning. Several issues were discussed during this meeting.
Mayor of Agde and departmental councilor of the canton of the same name, Sébastien Frey welcomed Klébe Mesquida to the town hall on Wednesday, October 2. A morning meeting to address important issues for the municipality, which the president of Hérault presented to Midi Libre.
First of all, the project to double the D612 road was discussed. “The studies were complex, but we should launch the public inquiry before the end of this year,” the president confided. After collecting observations and grievances, the declaration of public utility (DUP) will be launched, which allows for expropriation if necessary. Two prerequisites before launching the markets and a construction site that will not start immediately, as you will have understood. But it will be done.
The footbridge over the Hérault, which will connect the Promenade to the Château Laurens was also discussed. Here again, “the Department will provide its assistance”, assures Kléber Mesquida, just as on the multimodal interchange hub project, at the SNCF train station.
On the question of security, the two men announced the creation of a new emergency center. “The current one (located in the 7-Fonts area) is too cramped”, confides the president. The town hall has therefore targeted a plot of land in the Guiraudette area, after the Lidl store, for the construction of this new fire station.
