Dramatic fall from horse: World-class rider dies in riding accident

Ce samedi 21 septembre, Florence Pessey, une cavalière de niveau international âgée de 53 ans, est décédée dans un accident d’équitation survenu chez elle, à Saint-Jean-de-Sixt, en Haute Savoie.
The world of equestrianism is in mourning. Florence Pessey, an international-level rider, lost her life this Saturday around 9 a.m., reports Le Dauphiné libéré.
The fifty-year-old fatally fell from her horse on her property located in Saint-Jean-de-Sixt, a small Haute-Savoie town of 1,500 souls.
Barrel racing specialist
Despite the intervention of emergency services, Florence Pessey could not be resuscitated and succumbed to this horse riding accident that occurred in circumstances that remain undetermined for the moment.
The rider had become known in particular for her performances in barrel racing, a very popular discipline across the Atlantic where the horse must slalom as quickly as possible between obstacles.
