Sébastien, 27, a resident of Lisle, near Périgueux, saved the life of a motorist who crashed into a stationary car after falling ill.
Sébastien, 27, a resident of Lisle, near Périgueux, showed composure by saving the life of a motorist who had fallen ill after an accident that occurred right next to his garden. While he was painting his house, Sébastien heard the impact.
“In my head, it just jumped. I ran towards the victim, I didn't think about whether I was wearing shoes or not, I was barefoot to go and help him”, he tells BFMTV.
A neighbor calls for help< /h2>
The driver, unconscious, had crashed into another car, and gasoline was spilling on the ground. Sébastien didn't hesitate and quickly pulled the man out of his vehicle to get him to safety. But, without a phone and without anyone stopping, he stayed with the victim for twenty minutes, until a neighbor finally called for help.
He then learned that the man he had saved was a baker working in a neighboring village. “Two days later, I called the police to see how he was. I leave a message at the bakery, and twenty minutes later, my doorbell rings. I have the happy news of seeing this gentleman on his two legs with his family, bringing a cake and a present”, he remembers.
“Saving even more lives”
This was not the first time that Sébastien had come to the aid of someone. When he was working in a restaurant, a fire broke out, and he had saved a person from the flames. He decided to become a police officer and recently passed the entrance exam for the police academy, with the ambition of “saving even more lives.”
