À un peu plus deux ans des élections municipales, l'opposition de gauche a formulé ses vœux à la salle Paul Calabro du stade des Costières. L'occasion de parler de l'actualité et du futur.

Opposition elected officials who were able to count on the arrival of left-wing figures such as the president of Sdis Alexandre Pissas, the first federal secretary of the PS Pierre Jaumain, the secretary of the socialist section of Nîmes Nicolas Nadal, but also the former Nupes candidate for deputy Nicolas Cadène, the former environmentalist deputy Christophe Cavard, Sibylle Jannekeyn of Europe Ecology Les Verts, representatives of Ensemble, without forgetting the former communist mayor Alain Clary. Enough to nourish the thoughts and ambitions of a united left just over two years before the municipal elections.

During his vows, which were also attended by many members of associations, residents of working-class neighborhoods like Pissevin, Vincent Bouget, spoke on behalf of his group. The opportunity to criticize the reshuffle of the Government and its shift to the right, to oppose the Immigration law, to highlight & quot;the values ​​of solidarity, humanist which guide our action.

The choice of the Costières stadium

The communist elected official took advantage of the place of the wishes, the Costières stadium, to also make it a symbol of a poorly maintained public building which deteriorated very quickly, an ideological choice, that of privatization to save money and offer a private investor the possibility of fairly lucrative exploitation of the public domain. (…) Add the contempt for the history of the city, add the aggressiveness erected in response to those who contested this choice,  admire the slate that' 39;we’re going to leave it to the city. Overall, we find these elements in a number of municipal files."

If Vincent Bouget welcomed the inclusion of the Maison Carrée as a UNESCO world heritage site, he was much more critical of the ;#39;condition of the roads, of the Palais des Congrès, on the "window" of Nîmes 'which is not just a place to visit, it's first and foremost a place to live!" And the elected official to discuss the future: "It is high time to change era, to build a city to live in and dream about."

Decrease in the number of inhabitants

Nîmes citizen on the left, who is alarmed by the drop in the number of inhabitants, would like the choices of the municipal majority or the majority to be resolved. A thought for the commemorations of the Liberation of Nîmes

During his speech, Vincent Bouget expressed the wish, for the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Nîmes, for a restoration of the plaque in memory of the hanged men of 1944 but also tributes to the Gard resistance fighters who recently disappeared: Andrée Julien and Jacqueline Vigne.
