€37,000 released for Aveyron wine growers

Une aide a débloquée par la préfecture de l'Aveyron pour les viticulteurs du département.

If we compare the overall envelope, €37,000, and the number of wine growers in the department, around a hundred, this is more symbolic. However, the Aveyron winegrowers will not spit on it, so to speak.

"Wine growers are going through a deep crisis"

This Friday, February 16, the prefecture of Aveyron released cash aid for the Aveyron vineyards, affected like others for several years by mildew and harvests < em>"which are not going up", underlines Philippe Teulier, boss of the AOC Marcillac and the AOCs of Aveyron. "Wine growers are going through a deep crisis. In this context, the State is mobilized to support this major sector for the economy at the national level and in the territories […] To support the most affected agricultural businesses, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty has set up an emergency fund delegated to each department prefect", specifies the prefecture.

And to reveal the procedure to follow to benefit from this assistance. Farmers who have suffered a loss of turnover or harvest of at least 20% will be able to request it as a priority. These losses will be established by comparison with the previous year or the previous accounting year, or may be if necessary depending on the local situation at the last normal vintage identified at the department level. For Aveyron, this is the year 2020. For each case, the amount of aid may be modulated at the discretion of the prefect, for example by setting fixed rates, depending on the differences in difficulties or losses characterized, within the limit of a ceiling of 20,000 € by operation, and with local professional representatives. The procedure for submitting aid applications is completely electronic. No paper files will be taken into account.
Applications can be completed and submitted online on the platform until Monday March 4.
