ECHL: Quebec goalkeeper François Brassard stands in front of the Lions

UPDATE DAY

Quebec Maine Mariners goaltender François Brassard was intractable in front of his province's team, the Trois-Rivières Lions, closing the door completely to sign a 4-0 victory on Saturday , at the Colisée Vidéotron.

It was a frustrating evening for the spectators gathered in the Trois-Rivières amphitheater, but not as much as for the players of the club affiliated with the Montreal Canadiens. The Lions directed 41 pucks towards the cage of Brassard, but the Gatineau resident never gave up.

Sixteen shots were attempted by the home team in the third period. Brassard continued to steal bases, whether from Cameron Cook, Nicolas Guay or Thomas Caron. Ryan Francis is the one who passed the closest. The Nova Scotian forced the goaltender to compromise, but his backhand shot crashed into the doorman's right rod.

Reid Stefanson scored the first two goals for the Mariners, taking advantage of the Francis Marotte's difficult evening in net. The Lions masked man gave up four times on 21 shots, also being beaten by Conner Bleackley and Cameron Askew.

The Mariners defeated the Lions on Friday as well, 4-2 The two teams will meet again next Friday.
