Drowned near the Devil's Bridge

#HÉRAULT A tragedy occurred this Sunday, August 18, in the Hérault gorges near the Devil's Bridge in Saint-Jean-de-Fos. A 24-year-old did not come out alive from his last jump into the river in the middle of the afternoon. He did not jump from the famous Devil's Bridge but from a nearby rock according to initial reports.

He apparently came out after his jump and then drowned in this rather deep part of the Hérault. Alerted by his friends, the firefighters who called in the Dragon 34 were unable to resuscitate him. They could only confirm his death.

The new life of Miss Languedoc

#AUDEOn August 10, in Beaucaire, Jade Benazech from Aude was elected Miss Languedoc. Since her election, Jade's life has changed. If she becomes Miss France, her ambition goes beyond borders. “I would like to get involved in projects to help vulnerable people in Africa. My mother ran an association for abandoned children there, Les enfants d'abord.“

Kitchen fire at the straw hut

#BASSIN DE THAUA fire broke out at the Le Spot straw hut, a beach bar located in Aresquiers in the commune of Frontignan, during the night of Saturday 17 to Sunday 18 August. The fire was caused by a kitchen fire. It broke out after service, at 2am. Significant resources were dispatched to the scene. The fire did not cause any injuries, only material damage.
A prevention officer is due to go to the scene this Monday to assess the damage and determine whether the famous and much-loved Frontignan beach establishment, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, can continue its activity normally. This Sunday, it was open in any case.

#HÉRAULT A Montpellier resident was in police custody this Sunday for alleged fraud. He is suspected of having defrauded the Auchan store in Pérols by making purchases without provisions. The damage amounts to 7,500 euros. The man, arrested at the exit of the store, would not have acted alone, but his accomplice is still at large.

They would have published a false rental ad in order to recover bank details and identity documents of people who fell into their trap.
