After seven Emmy nominations in 2022, the Yellowjackets series is planning a strong comeback in 2023 with new submissions, including Sophie Nélisse for the best lead actress in a drama series category.
Thus, the Quebec actress, who plays the teenage version of Shauna, will join the big leagues with her adult counterpart Melanie Lynskey, US outlet Variety revealed on Thursday.
The drama-type series follows the story of a soccer team that must survive in the woods after a plane crash. The story then wanders between two periods, the events surrounding the plane crash and the daily life of the characters struggling with trauma 25 years later.
If Sophie Nélisse were to be named at the Emmys, it would be a first for her. Known in particular for her role in Monsieur Lazhar, we have been able to see her since 2013 in various American productions.
