In Belgium, a dangerous criminal who was mistakenly released after being mistaken for another inmate is thankfully back behind bars. 

On April 24, the police managed to get the fugitive Mohamed B. B., who was then on the list of the most wanted individuals of the Belgian federal police, reported the local media 7sur7.

< p> The latter, who is serving a sentence in Saint-Gilles prison for sexual exploitation, kidnapping and rape, was released “by mistake” a few days earlier, after being confused with a prisoner with a similar name, according to the media < em>Het Nieuwsblad.

“We have opened an internal investigation to find out what went wrong. When we have established where the fault comes from, specific measures will be taken, ”said prison spokeswoman Kathleen Van De Vijver, very embarrassed, according to 7sur7.

The Belgian, considered as dangerous, would have been quickly found at the home of members of his family, near the prison, and would have surrendered without making a fuss.
