Établissement Archambault: un meurtrier rend l’âme en prison

A murderer sentenced to life in prison in 1992 and died behind bars, Wednesday, at the prison of Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines in the Laurentians.

Christian Gagnon was serving from September 4, 1992, a sentence of life imprisonment for murder not premeditated.

The inmate died of natural causes following an illness. Correctional Service Canada (CSC) did not, however, provided more information about the disease.

CSC has informed the relatives of the detainee of his or her death.

As is always the case when a prisoner dies behind bars, CSC will review the circumstances of the event, in addition to notify the police and the coroner.
