The peloton sets off this Sunday, February 4 for the fifth stage of the 54th edition of the Etoile de Bessèges with a 10.6 km time trial in the streets of Alès .
As since 2012, the Étoile de Bessèges will end with a time trial in the streets of Alès (10.6 km) with a start from the city center and an uphill arrival at Ermitage (1st category pass, the last 1.6 km at 7.9%). The first runner will leave at 1:15 p.m., the last, leader Mads Pedersen, at 3:35 p.m.
With six seconds ahead of the young Frenchman from Alpecin Deceuninck Axel Laurance, the Dane from Lidl Trek will be hard to catch up especially since He won last year during the same time trial. Kevin Vauquelin (Arkea) and Kevin Geniets (Groupama-FDJ) 3rd and 4th overall at 12 and 16 seconds seem too far away to make up their gap.
