L’animatrice et styliste Daphné Bürki a eu un rôle clé dans la fabrication des costumes des artistes qui se produiront à l’occasion de la cérémonie d’ouverture et de fermeture des Jeux Olympiques de Paris 2024.

She kept the secret for two years, before breaking the silence this Monday, June 24 in the columns of Paris Match. To our colleagues, television host and stylist Daphné Bürki tells us that she was chosen by Thomas Jollly to lead the design of the costumes for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.< /p>

With the head costume designer of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games Olivier Bériot, Daphné Bürki had the mission of choosing around ten young designers who made, with the help of Dior and Louis Vuitton, the 3,000 costumes for the artists and dancers who will perform on July 26 and August 11 for the Olympic Games, then on August 28 and September 8 for the Games Paralympics.

If the general public knows Daphné Bürki as a host (formerly for Canal + and France 5, she is currently a judge on Drag Race France), the young woman graduated from Les Beaux -Arts also worked for the house of Dior alongside John Galliano."As a journalist, she has a keen eye for trends and talents. She is the most valuable ally of this artistic team. assures Thomas Jolly.

Unique costumes that come from upcycling

All the costumes are "unique, each one tells its own story", specifies the host who insisted that the clothes come from upcycling. "I didn not want us to manufacture for the sake of manufacturing", she continues. In addition, each item of clothing will be recycled after the Games.

Daphné Bürki kept her important mission secret until now, since even her parents were not in on it, says- She. "I’I even had to hide my true identity from my loved ones, my parents, until now !", entrusted the young woman to our colleagues to whom she opened the doors of the Saint-Denis workshops where the costumes are made.

For the opening ceremony, on July 26, some 200 dressers and 288 hair and makeup artists will be mobilized along the 6 ;nbsp;km of the river to take care of the artists. On the big day, Daphné Bürki will also comment alongside Laurent Delahousse and Alexandre Boyon on the ceremony live on France 2.
