During the greeting ceremony, the mayor of Mende presented the Honors of the City to three Mendois.

Three Mendois received the Honors of the City of Mende during the greeting ceremony of Mayor Laurent Suau, this Friday, January 12, 2024.

Fabienne Albouy

Fabienne Albouy was distinguished for her community commitment. Atsem, she works in Mende schools. At the same time, she  is involved in several associations, such as the Première Compagnie des archers de Mende or the Mende Volley Lozère. His very first commitment was for the festival committee, in 1999. "She puts all her dynamism and all her passion particularly into the election of queens, from the search for gifts to the preparation of the young girls", recalled Laurent Suau.& ;nbsp;A journey that she knows for having been elected Miss Mende in 1986. The mayor congratulated her courage and her good humor, which make her "a woman of ' ;exception". She especially wanted to thank "all the people who work around [her]" : "More than acquaintances, I met great people; this allows me to occasionally forget about the illness." The holiday committee, mobilized for the buffet of this evening of greetings, warmly applauded her, as did the audience.

Guy Boulet, known as Guitou

Guy Boulet “is part of the decor, like an element of heritage", presented Laurent Suau. The man we know by the nickname Guitou opened the Town Hall bar in 1992 and kept it alive until 2011. Passionate about music, he made it a landmark Lozerian musicians for many years, meeting place for Mendoise youth around games of table football, pinball and other karaoke. He created the Rockfort association in 1998 and was also involved in Volte-Face in the 2000s, which brought big names from the rock scene to Mende. Philippe Mocellin

Philippe Mocellin, known as Pilou, also received an Honor from the City. His family has run the Café du Commerce for 90 years. Three generations have succeeded one another behind the zinc, since 1933: Alphonsine and Jules, then Nicole and Lucien, then Sylvie and Philippe, now joined by their son Nicholas. The establishment has always been anchored in the life of Mendois; it's a must. Philippe Mocellin also co-founded the 48 brewery, whose beer has received several medals. He is also a delegate of cafe owners within the Umih of Lozère, the Union of hotel trades and industries. Philippe Mocellin naturally associated his family with this recognition.
