In each pharmacy, patients can sign a petition to the attention of the President of the Republic.
"Now, drug shortages are everywhere. These supply difficulties do not only affect treatments against rare diseases, warns Eric Jose, the president of the majority union of community pharmacists in Gard.
Faced with this observation, the health professional, at the head of a pharmacy in Saint-Gilles, is now appealing to patients. And this, in an attempt to challenge the President of the Republic as quickly as possible on what has become, according to him, a real public health problem.
Price drop
"Since Friday January 12 in each of the 242 pharmacies in Gard, as in others throughout the Mediterranean arc, patients are encouraged to sign a petition in support of their pharmacist. Because the systematic drop in the price of certain drugs, the capping of the sale price of certain others by health insurance, generates on the part of manufacturers a choice to sell these health products quite simply towards other sources. “other countries than ours”, denounces Eric Jose who considers himself today to be materially unable to exercise his profession correctly.
Complications
Friday January 12, some 15,000 bulletins supporting this petition were distributed in pharmacies in Gard. They are supplemented by a powerful poster communication campaign, still in pharmacies.
A campaign aimed at alerting the population, via concrete examples, of the health risks caused by certain drug shortages (medical complications, hospitalization, etc.). ..).
