Farmer Kills Two Women With Gun, Feeds Their Bodies To Pigs: South Africa's Scandalous Case

On Tuesday 10 September, farmer Zachariah Johannes Olivier, 60, and his two employees, Adrian Rudolph de Wet, 19, and William Musora, 45, appeared for the first time in court in Polokwane, in the north of the country.

According Sky News, the three men are accused of killing two women, Maria Makgatho and Locadia Ndlovu, with a firearm and feeding their bodies to pigs. They are charged with two counts of first-degree murder, attempted murder, and possession of an unauthorized firearm.

The events began in August, when a tragic incident took place on Olivier's farm in the province Limpopo. The two women, who were trying to collect expired dairy products left by a delivery truck, trespassed on the property. They were shot, and a man accompanying them was injured but managed to crawl to safety. ;#39;to a road to alert the authorities. The police then found the partly devoured remains in a pig pen.

During their appearance, the three defendants requested provisional release, but this request was rejected. They will remain in custody until the end of the trial. Protests took place outside the courthouse, with participants demanding that the defendants receive the harshest possible sentences.
