Farmers' blockade: Marc Fesneau, Minister of Agriculture, confirms his visit to Hérault this Friday, February 2

The Minister of Agriculture Marc Fesneau will meet this Friday, February 2 in Montpellier with representatives of wine growers. 

The Minister of Agriculture Marc Fesneau had promised to return to Hérault to meet the wine growers. He committed to this during his visit to the Sitevi show in Montpellier last November.

This afternoon, he confirmed at Midi Libre his presence. Marc Fesneau will return to the measures announced on January 31.  

80 million additional euros to support "all wine regions which are in crisis"

Questioned on Sud Radio, the Minister of Agriculture promised aid to relieve the bloodless treasuries of many winegrowers. The main announcement concerns treasuries: Marc Fesneau promised that the government would put an additional 80 million euros on the table to support & ;quot;all wine regions which are in crisis". A way also "to cover the hazards", he added. 

In addition, he promised a grubbing premium of 150 M € which could potentially finally structurally help Occitanie winegrowers who are unable to sell their wine. This is a strong request from the FNSEA which required a temporary uprooting of 5 years. The principle: the winegrower receives the bonuses to uproot his vines then has five years either for reconversion, to replant or to stop his exploitation. 

The Minister of Agriculture will not fail to detail the announcements made this afternoon by Gabriel Attal and Emmanuel Macron. The main unions have called for the blockades to be lifted.
