Farmers' blockades: update on traffic conditions on the roads of Gard

It was still complicated to travel on the roads of Gard this Wednesday, January 31 and this will probably be the case again this Thursday, February 1. However, this evening, at 8 p.m., there will be the reopening of the A54 motorway from the Garons interchange (N°2, towards Arles).

With the blockages of angry farmers, the difficulties in traveling on the Gard road network continue this Wednesday, January 31 and this should still be the case this Thursday, February 1. According to the Gard prefecture, there is still a positive development.

It is located at the A54 motorway which will reopen this Wednesday evening, 8 p.m., from the Garons interchange (N°2), towards of Arles. You should know that in the Arles/Nîmes direction, the highway is already open to Garons.

On the A9, motorists and truckers can pass through the Nîmes Est interchange (N°24) in the south-north direction to Remoulins (No. 23). On the other hand, between Nîmes Est and Nîmes Ouest, as well as up to Gallargues, the motorway remains closed. Indeed, a farmers' roadblock has been installed since Thursday January 25 near the Nîmes Ouest interchange.

Secondary network

And on the secondary network ? On the RD 994, the Vieux Pont in Pont Saint-Esprit is reopened but many roads are saturated. This was observed when crossing Nîmes on part of Boulevard Salvador Allende again this Wednesday. 

According to the Gard Departmental Council, the department's road network is saturated around the sectors of Aimargues, Saint-Gilles, Bezouce, Chemin des Canaux (RD 135) and Bagnols -sur-Cèze. We will probably have to be patient for Thursday.

Moreover, that day, at the end of the morning, the Peasant Confederation must distribute leaflets to the KM Delta.
