Félix Lebrun enters the world top 5 and leaves his mark on the history of French table tennis

Thanks to his access to the final four of the Singapore tournament last week, Félix Lebrun will become world number 5 this Tuesday, March 19.

One more place in the rankings for Félix Lebrun. This Tuesday, the resident of the Nîmes-Montpellier Alliance will climb to 5th place in the world. The reason ? His access to the semi-finals of the Singapore tournament. His journey came to an end after falling against the new world number one, the Chinese Wang Chuqin (4-1). 

The latter is ahead of three compatriots in the world rankings: Fan Zendhong, Liang Jingkun and Ma Long.

Fourth Frenchman in a top 5

At 17 years and 6 months, Lebrun is the third youngest player to enter the world's top 5, as L'Equipe. Only three French people had managed to reach such a ranking: Jean-Philippe Gatien (world number 1 in 1992), René Roothooft (1952) and Jacques Secutin (1976-77).
