We start with the Jandillas who appear on the opening poster of the feria and will be fought by Sébastien Castella, Andres Roca Rey and Christian Parejo.

The name of the breeding has its origins in the Jandilla finca which marked the beginning of the Juan Pedro Domecq dynasty in 1930. Since then, the iron that flooded the Spanish and French fields was separated in the 80s as part of family successions to give birth to two other breedings of the siblings, Zalduendo and Jandilla, in addition to the parent company.

The star iron has since moved from Andalusia to Extremadura to the finca « Don Tello » in Merida. In 2016, Borja Domecq stepped back to hand over the management of his breeding to his eponymous son before dying of Covid in 2020.

A successful breeding in Castella and Roca Rey

Since the 80s, this iron has earned its letters of nobility by participating in the many successes of the Paco Ojeda phenomenon. Since then, excellence has been maintained relentlessly at Don Tello and the temporadas are a succession of successes with bulls of exceptional class and substance while retaining the original bravery and requirement.

Even if the 2024 season marked a slowdown with the bullfights in Madrid and Seville which did not offer their usual quality. But they did not fail in France with a total of nine pavilions offered in Arles and Istres. This breeding is particularly successful for Roca Rey and Sébastien Castella since the Peruvian cut three ears in Valencia (including a toro de vuelta) and Jerez de la Frontera this year and Rociero was the actor who allowed the Béziers native to receive the prize for triumphant and best faena of the San Isidro in Madrid in 2023. And Las Ventas still remembers the exceptional Hebreo with Castella in 2017 who wrote a beautiful page of history.
