MONTREAL – This is an edition “scalable”, which will bring movie-goers online and classroom, that will propose the organisation of the Festival du nouveau cinéma de Montréal (FNC) for its 49th incarnation, from 7 to 18 October.
The event, presented by Québecor will be the first festival of art of montreal to reinstate the cinema in 2020, a-t we learned Tuesday.
The programming of the FNC will be hosted by the platform Festival Scope, together with Shift72, host of the Cannes Film Market, the Academy of the Oscars and SXSW. This mode of dissemination will allow creators to reach the audience beyond geographical limitations and make it even more accessible to the films of authors of national and international, a goal that has always cherished the FNC since its inception.

Support the industry
Through its professional segment, FNC Forum, the festival is launching this year two calls for projects, presented by Netflix, targeted to boost the industry and support projects at different stages : the “First Cut Lab FNC Montreal” for projects in post-production, and the “Pitch first” works for the development projects.
Thanks to the support programme “First Cut Lab FNC Montreal for canadian feature films of fiction at the stage of assembly, the selected projects will be supported by professionals from the industry to the international and an editor consultant to increase their potential of radiation through the world. As for the “Pitch first” works, it will allow a or of the creators of long and medium-length films canadians to receive a $ 10,000 scholarship to support their progress.
