Figuerolles: the Hütte ceramists celebrate four years in Montpellier this Friday evening

Juline, Laura et Pauline participent à la vie d’un quartier “qui n’a pas toujours bonne réputation”.

The ceramics workshop invites you to blow out its four candles, this Friday, September 13.

It was four years ago. An opening complicated by a lockdown, the curfew, work in the street… It is now a well-established ceramics workshop in the neighborhood, rue du Père Bonnet. Juline Doisne and Laura Philippon, two qualified and independent founders, are united in a collective under the roof of La Hütte, their place of creation and teaching.

“We love to receive”

Accompanied by Pauline Dellaroli, who has been in residence for a year, they shape, turn and fire a multitude of decorative and utilitarian ceramic objects and share their know-how through weekly courses and classes. Tonight, they are opening the doors of La Hütte wide and inviting us.

“We have a small boutique space but we mainly sell outside, at markets, online, with other professionals. So, the only event we keep here is our birthday! To celebrate and show off our workshop. We love to host, it's an opportunity for our network to come, friends, family, our students, other ceramicists from Montpellier and our neighboring merchants."

A ceramic DJ

Small (porcelain) dishes in the big ones: "We are planning an aperitif-dinner, full of homemade goodies. We have invited DJ Techno Pouffe and her original, festive and colorful techno. She is a ceramicist in Viols-le-Fort and we will see some of her pieces".

To get your hands dirty, "we will also offer a collective sculpture, a base on which people will contribute their stone to the building with modeling and added elements for an original and unique patchwork".

Juline, Laura and Pauline participate in the life of a neighborhood " that does not always have a good reputation but is nice, popular with a good atmosphere, authentic. We are happy to have our workshop here!".
