Le corps de la jeune femme de 19 ans a été retrouvé samedi 21 septembre dans le bois de Boulogne, à l’ouest de Paris.

Missing since Friday, September 20, Philippine, 19, was found dead in the Bois de Boulogne on Saturday during a search party involving nearly fifty people. It was her sister who reported her disappearance to the police that same evening. This was followed by numerous missing persons notices, notably on the application The Sorority, "mutual aid community", which claims to have published   "a missing persons notice following her worrying disappearance to support her loved ones and try to find her as quickly as possible", reports France Info.

An alert sent to around fifty people

This application, created in 2020, is aimed at to "women and people from gender minorities who feel insecure". In the event of a worrying situation, the person simply has to send a message on Sorority. Thanks to GPS location, an alert is sent to around fifty people registered on the application and located nearby. They can then contact the person, either by sending them a message or by calling them. They can also contact the police or go to the scene “by pretending to know them, and without ever putting themselves in danger”, explains Priscillia Routier-Trillard, founder of The Sorority to Radio France. An approach that has already saved young girls, as shown by this message from a young woman using The Sorority posted on social networks at the beginning of September.

Registration on The Sorority can be done from the age of 12 with parental consent. All you have to do is send a selfie in real time and provide your ID. And since March 8, International Women's Day, a partnership between the application and law enforcement has been signed. Currently, The Sorority has 115,000 users.
