The traditional fishing for small fish from the channels in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade will indeed take place this year, despite the pandemic.
The Sainte-Anne River Outfitters Association confirmed the information on Saturday, after negotiations with Public Health.
It is ensured that the village on ice will respect health standards. The association will work, in the coming days, to plan the boat.
If the weather permits, fishing can begin on December 26 in this small municipality of Mauricie.
This will then be the kickoff of the 83e fishing season for small channel fish, also known as “tomcod”.
