Five alleged ready and brothers paedophiles have been arrested by the major crime of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Tuesday morning at the home of the Clerics of Saint-Viateur at Joliette in the Lanaudière region.
The events allegedly occurred between 1961 and 1989 when they were responsible for the education and supervision of minors in the colleges of Quebec, including the collège Bourget in Rigaud, and of the institutions of Matane and Pohénégamook in the Bas-Saint-Laurent, as well as The Minerve, in the Laurentians.
The five men arrested, John Pestle (78 years old), Gérard Whissell (81 years old), Laurent Madore (83 years old), Raoul Jomphe (86 years) and Roger Larue (88 years old) should face charges of gross indecency, sexual assault and indecent assault.
The SQ has clarified by issuing a press release that “several of the victims have been identified to date.”
“It’s been 35 that I was waiting for this moment,” said Brian Ford, an alleged victim, on Tuesday morning, of VAT New.
