Five young children were seriously injured after to be likely fallen out of the front shovel of a tractor on Wednesday evening, Notre-Dame-de-Stanbridge, in Montérégie.
“A few minutes before 19 h [Wednesday night], police officers of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) have been called to go to the rang Sainte-Anne in Notre-Dame-de-Stanbridge [in the regional county municipality of Brome-Missisquoi] for a collision involving a farm tractor and five people “, reported in the end of the night the sergeant and spokesperson for the SQ, Claude Denis.
According to the first information obtained by the authorities, the farm tractor was travelling on the rang Sainte-Anne towards the north.
In its front shovel, the driver was carrying wood, and some people, including children, we are told. According to our information, it would be a matter of five minor children.
For a reason that we didn’t know still at the time of going to press, the kids who were in the shovel would have fallen to the ground.
These would have been seriously injured. We feared for the lives of some, in the late evening.
Ambulances have been dispatched to the scene to transport the victims to a hospital.
“A reconstructionist was also called for on-site, as well as investigators, to understand the circumstances of this event,” said sergeant Denis.
