The TF1 channel and the Ligue de football professionnel announced on Wednesday that they had reached an agreement on the television rights for a magazine covering the French championship, which will be broadcast in the free-to-air format on the Téléfoot show.
“Every Sunday, find all the news from Ligue 1 McDonald's in the free-to-air format on TF1 and TF1 + (the private channel's platform, editor's note): match summaries, reports, behind-the-scenes coverage, portraits and exclusive interviews!”, can be read on the X account of the show created in 1977.
A free-to-air show every Sunday
The famous Sunday show will be able to use images from L1 every week, starting Sunday, when the second day of the championship will be held. The amount of the agreement was not disclosed.
These rights for a magazine had still not been awarded while Ligue 1 started last Friday, and the media landscape surrounding it has been turned upside down by endless negotiations.
At the end of a long saga for the allocation of Ligue 1 rights until 2029, the British sports streaming platform DAZN has acquired eight out of nine live matches per day for an average of 400 million euros per year, and beIN one match for 100 million euros.

The price of the DAZN subscription, set at 29.99 euros per month for a one-year commitment and 39.99 euros per month without commitment, has sparked controversy among viewers. Is the Téléfoot show broadcast in the clear?
