This Wednesday, March 27, job seekers and recruiters gathered at the Millau village hall.

"Good TAF !" The expression can colloquially be said in the morning to a loved one, before they hire. This Wednesday, in the narrow aisles of the village hall, it rather meant “have a good show”, from the elected officials present to tour the stands. At midday, everyone was united in praising the good attendance scores for this premiere of the TAF – for "Future work training" – in Millau. 531 people had already passed through the doors of the show at midday. Previously, employers and future workers were used to meeting at the Employment and Training Forum. The latter notably allowed tourist-oriented structures to recruit seasonal workers, but not only that.

The arrival of the TAF in Millau, organized in the Region for many years, arises from a need. "It was organized in Rodez and the employment area of ​​Ruthénois does not correspond to that of Millavois and Saint-Affricain", supports Emmanuelle Gazel, regional advisor. "We really needed this relocation to Millau", concedes Clément Carles, his Saint-Affrican counterpart. More than just speed dating between recruiters and job seekers, the TAF fair also brings together training organizations.

Indeed, along the aisles where it was difficult to find a place, the Millau nursing school or even an information point on the connected Campus.  "In addition to finding job offers, it is possible to find out about the training offerings in the area and allows you to remove certain obstacles& quot;, note Emmanuelle Gazel.

The Local Mission and France Travail (formerly Pôle emploi), partners of the event, also prepared the candidates for these meetings. &amp ;quot;We wanted to do something qualitative, presents Laurent Paul, territorial director of France Travail. The idea was to prepare audiences for a professional screening." And Séverine Peyretout, vice-president of the local Mission in Millau, completes: "There was a lot of work supporting young people to prepare the interviews and target the stands on which they were going to apply. It’is also a training day during which some have their first interview."

77 companies present in Millau

Throughout their stroll, visitors could see familiar faces in front of them from local shops in the city center, campsites in Millau or recruiters specializing in human resources from & Larger companies like Lactalis or major retail brands. In total, 77 companies found a box in the village hall for 450 job offers to be filled. "70 % of the offers concern five sectors , details the territorial manager of France travail. Transport, hotels and restaurants, logistics, industry and service to the person." Among the offers posted, a third were for seasonal employment. & quot;This can in fact start with a seasonal position and continue over time, note Séverine Peyretout.
